Wet
This morning we got wet. We inflated our life vests and jumped into a pool where we learned how to lock arms and huddle and also how to perform that 'carpet technique' that uses a lot less energy. It's useful for long-term hanging out in an ocean while you wait for the coast guard. I'm not sure how useful it would be if there were waves. We also learned about the life rafts we carry on overwater flights. Perhaps there was a little hot tub time afterwards as well...
We got fingerprinted and then returned to the classroom this afternoon for a review of what would be on our indoc test tomorrow and a briefing on how to use our company pagers ... which didn't show up. Oh well, perhaps we'll get our leashes soon.
On a nice note, Megan has joined me here in Columbus! She flew out on Tuesday evening and is staying with me until Sunday. We agreed ahead of time that we will both study while she's here. I need to study for class and she needs to study for her board exam this fall. The lack of computers, XBoxes and cats helps a lot. With a little bit of luck, i'll get to take her on a tour of the hangar and into a few of our airplanes in the next couple of days.
