Week two
Week two (day six) began with another fire hose smattering of topics: "Nav, ATC and Instrument environment", general emergency training (not aircraft specific), "EVAS", instrument charting services that we use and GPS. That was before lunch. After lunch, was an intro to the company weight and balance program, general aircraft performance topics, domestic RVSM (reduced enroute spacing between aircraft -- something new that started nationwide on January 20th) and a briefing by our union rep.
Day seven was Crew Resource Management (how we work together and use resources), high altitude physiology, terrain avoidance equipment, regulations, adverse weather and meteorology review, more regulations and fire training.
Day eight consisted of an introduction to international operations, TCAS, Hazmat, a review about previous company incidents, a briefing on duties and responsibilities and ground icing procedures.
